Quilts over the years

A Patchwork of Friends

Every year, the centerpiece of the Apple Country Fair is the quilt, both literally and figuratively. It hangs from the tent in the center of The Common where many fairgoers seek to admire the current year’s design and colors. It is one of the major prizes in our raffle.

Creating the quilt takes almost a full year and many nimble fingers. Each year’s design is unique. Even before the fair ends, the quilters have begun thinking about designs for the next year’s quilt.

Throughout the years, many members of the community have taken part in creating, sewing, and/or quilting each masterpiece. It is usually completed during the summer and is often displayed in various public buildings before the fair.

Raffle tickets are sold by The Brookfield Community Club at the raffle table on the day of the fair for the quilt as well as many other nice prizes. The tickets are sold until 5 minutes before the drawing which occurs at 4:00 p.m. on the day of the Apple Country Fair.
